Some of my favorite pictures of you!

One and en fuego!

You got your fourth tooth last week and your hair is nearly long enough to put into a clip or slim little ponytail. At your one year doctor appointment you weighed in at 20 pounds 15 ounces. Your weight is 70th percentile and your height a mighty 42%. Perfect in my mind.
My only wish is that you would sleep during the night. You wake up too often and in turn you wow up your mommy and daddy as all.
I am writing this from china- on a week long trip and miss you terribly. I've heard you've  been a good girl so thank you! I will miss your Halloween costume and miss your sweet face. Xoxo

12 months + colander

Birthday Girl!

Tomorrow you turn one years old. Already. Just like that. Where has the time gone?
To celebrate the event we threw you a party where all your seattle family attended (and your michigan family came via FaceTime) as well as Cameron, Kristin and Michelle.
Hazel and mommy made our cake - a moist yellow cake. Three layers tall with strawberry filling and pink buttercream frosting. You gobbled it right up- what a pro!
So, I know your actual birthday is tomorrow but what the heck. I'd like to share what you've become since last year at this time.

- 3.5 teeth (that second top one is a bugger and trying to come out!
- walking without hesitation
- almost ready to feed yourself (properly) though you do a great job feeding yourself the messy way
- you LOVE playing with your sister and following her around
- when you get tired you sputter your mouth, it turns down and you just plop down
- you still have never slept through the night continuously (please lets work on that!)
- when you hear music your heads bobs from left to right
- puppies make you smile
- you aren't much of a tv kid (good girl!)
- your mommy loves you soooo much and when I see your little face covered in your red hair I smile on my face and deep in my heart.

Most importantly I want to tell you how proud I am of how much you've learned this year and progressed. You are the most adorable little girl with the biggest smile and brightest eyes. You give the best hugs and you have made our family complete. With all my heart I love you sweet Dottie Lou.
