a walk to the park
this morning we decided to venture out to south lake union park- it wasn't a nice day, nor was it a poor one. We saw some ducks at the pond and took the trolley back to the condo. A quick but fun trip none-the-less.

daycare so far...
You seem to be transitioning well to daycare. Every time I pop in to see you there is a smile on your face or you are sleeping soundly in your crib. Your teachers continue to comment on how happy you are and that you seem to have good days everyday with them. You haven's been immune to getting sick and the colds just keep coming. I don't know how you can be so positive- a noble and wonderful trait to have my dear. There are other babies around your age; Sadie and Parker for starters. They seem to be having a slightly less comfortable experience. A few things you do at daycare so far:
- lay on the play mat and look at the hanging items (mirror, etc)
- sit upright in a double boppie
- drink your 16 ounces of milk over 4 sessions (still no formula yet!! Yeah mommy!)
- nap, nap, nap. About 4-5 times a day from 15 minutes to a few hours at a time
- tummy time!
- get held by Natasha, Fatuma or Helina
- play with your friends
- practice holding things or at least looking at them
I try to visit at least once a day if not more and usually you are napping when I pop by. Sigh...
Thanks for being so good and giving this daycare thing a try. Hazel seemed to enjoy it and has made friends and I wish the same for you my little buttercup.

girls weekend
this weekend daddy is in Michigan so its just Hazel, Dottie and Mommy! I'll be honest, I'm a little scared of how it will go but so far so good. You both slept well last night (after Dottie got through her coughing fit) and our morning was fun. Play mat for Dottie and Disney Junior for Hazel. Cameron came over for a visit. It has been so much fun with my little girls. I'm imagining how these girl moments will change over the years. Parks and playtime to manicures and lunch. I look forward to many more of these moments to come in the future.

Big girl on campus
you've gone through two days of daycare so far and you seem to be doing well!
Apparently you and Sadie (another new baby) coo at each other and look at one another when they place you side by side. So cute!
I try to visit as often as I can- to feed you, hold you or play with you. Hazel loves to know you are at the same school with her and peeks into your classroom at the end of the day.
Starting tomorrow we have a full week of school- I hope you do well and hang in there sweet baby girl.

daycare intake
We met with your new teachers yesterday in Infant Room 2.
They seem so nice and are very excited for you to join their classroom on Thursday (in 2 days!!!)
Your primary teacher is Helina who happens to be Emebete's sister (Hazel's teacher) along with Fatuma and Natasha. I'm excited and nervous all at once for us all. While it will be a huge transition for us all, I know we'll pull through and make it. It will be nice to have the whole family going into work together each day and coming home together. I plan on visiting you, nursing you and playing with you as often as possible in the first few weeks (and beyond). I hope this isn't too early. You just turned 3 months old yesterday. I hope you know how much I love you and I'm already mourning the loss of this time together. Rest assured, we will continue to have our special time together and with your sister. Girl time!
When Helina asked what my goals for you were in the first 6 months I said for you to feel safe and loved. That's the best I can wish for. xoxox Mommy

happy 2013 my little munchkins! (shared post)
We rang in 2013 at the beachhouse on Whidbey with two sets of friends (alyse, ben and Mason the two days prior to the holiday and peder, sara, oskar and elsa the next two days). while the weather wasn't great, we still played outside and wit all the christmas toy bounty- except you, Dottie- you snuggled close with mommy or daddy.
Hazel- you got along famously with everyone. No fears at all of Ben or Peder which was somewhat new. You even shared some of your toys with Oskar...sometimes.
Mason read you stories and you tried your first glass of orange juice!
We made cookies on NYE and made forts with the couch cushions.
And Dottie- you were a good girl, slept most of the night and kept smiling.
