Sunday we celebrated your baptism at St Marks. You waited so patiently for your leading role to show and when you were dunked in the urn you didn't cry at all. After the water the priest (Steven) smeared oil on your forehead and hair (which smelled nice like nutmeg).
In attendance were Hazel, mommy and daddy. Also your grandma and grandpa anderson flew in for the event. Grams and papa were there. Shine and Don, Mark and Courtney and baby Freddy were there as well. Daddy and I decided to have Mark and Courtney and mommy's dear friend Cameron to be your god parents. Cameron was still in Rio but he'll make it up to you when he returns I'm sure : )
After church we all went to the Dahlia Lounge for brunch. It was a fun but long day andyou were such a great sport.
Always the smile for everyone.

hands
today you proved your hands are miraculous things. I saw them. They worked. They held the bottle and enabled you to drink on your own. While I am so proud of this moment and your continuing ability to fend for yourself on the other hand I already miss your fragility and your infant moments. I know that soon enough you will be walking, talking, running carefree and then fully immersed within your own life. Keep those hands connected to what matters. Don't ever take advantage that you have this ability and use your strengths for good. I wish you endless adventure and opportunity.

first...
yesterday I took you to the doctor and after Dr Spektor ranted about how spectacular you were (with perfect coloring and the most perfect waspy baby he's seen in a long time!) you were diagnosed with your first ear infection- poor baby girl. We bought you medicine (low dosage) and I'm hoping you're feeling better. I don't know, however, because you are on Whidbey Island with daddy and your grandma and grandpa from michigan- they arrived yesterday. I just want to hold you in my arms, feed you and look at that big toothless smile of yours. Smoooch.

6 month colander photo (a little behind!)
A little redhead - it may be the light. It may be the camera filter but I still think of you as my little Erik Anderson.
7 months already!
you are growing to be such a big girl! You sit up on your own- your abs are strong. You are doing the army crawl trying to get from one spot to another. I bet my your 8th month you'll be crawling in full force. Incredible because a few short months ago you were so helpless and flimsy.A few things about you Dottie Lou:
- you giggle and your face lights up when you see your sister
- you love standing holding on to my fingers
- you say over and over "da da da da"
- you love eating carrots! sometimes two jars full.
- you sleep on your tummy and wake up too often still
- no teeth in sight
- drool constantly, running nose constantly
- always happy
- you sometimes play in the middle of the night (last night as an example)
- you love doing the airplane
- your poop still shoots up your back on occasion- how does that happen??
- You love your play keys, sophie the giraffe and the squeaky bee
- you look adorable in lilac
A few things about mommy right now:
