a bad first

You weren't your normally smiley self last weekend when you got your first diaper rash- boy was it bad! You had diarrhea and a very red bottom indeed. All day saturday we left you sans diaper and sunday swathed diaper rash cream on your bottom and it eventually got better. You also had some vomiting and a slight fever. Poor little girl! By Monday we had you feeling much better and your smiles  began again.
I really truly can't believe how goos and happy a baby you are- thank you little buttercup!

4 months! (already!!)

You past the 4 month mark and I couldn't be more proud. You are such a big girl and growing everyday. You continue to roll over and over and over. It makes me nervous at night because technically you're supposed to be sleeping on your back...not your tummy silly girl!
Accordin to Dr Lindsay we shouldn't worry too much if you're able to support your head (which you can) and you sleep with your head to the side (which you do). Still... makes mommy nervous and I hope you don't continue to cause your poor mommy anxiety.

Today we had your doctor visit. You got a few shots and did just fine (unlike last time).
Your stats are as follow:

weight: 14 pounds, 1 oz (44th %)
height: 25 inches (over 2 feet!!) (65th%)
head size: 40cm (30th%) small but that's a-ok.

Some of your favorite things or things about you at this mark:

• you still smile all the time
• you are a patient and easy going baby
• you love to watch and play with your sister
• you love to curl up, be on your back or roll over
• you seem to enjoy the play mat
• you've started to use your jumper-saucer and seem to like it!
• you love doing baby yoga
• you like it when mommy lifts your legs over your head or raise and lower your arms
• you like to hear your mommy and daddy's voice
• you constantly put your hand in your mouth even though there are no signs of teeth coming
• you poop up your back!
• you like walks but don't totally enjoy your carseat
• you gagged today when given tylenol
• you have had a re-curring cold since birth practically. your immune system will be awesome!
• i love you more every day and always look forward to seeing your smile!

Carmel weekend

last weekend we (the whole family) flew to Carmel for the weekend to stay with daddy's cousins. There were 22 of us in all. 10 children and 12 adults. It was a sweet weekend filled with walks to the beach and town, dinner and playing with cousin and toys. 

Dottie rolled over for the first time (and witnessed by Courtney and Karen) and Hazel ran off at the SFO airport only to be found by TSA. While Dottie slept on the beach in her carseat, Hazel chased waves and picked up shells.

last weekend you rolled. and rolled. and rolled.
In fact, since last weekend you have been on your back and tummy and side all at once.
Not even 4 months old and we can no longer fully swaddle you for fear of you rolling on your tummy and not being able to roll back. For such a soft and quiet little girl you have some inner passion that is showing itself. Go girl!
