merry 1st christmas sweet baby

your first christmas and it was a fine one.
You are always such a good little girl with your big, big smiles and steady nature....but...when you want or need something this little fire comes out until you get your needs met. A bit of a perfect combo if you ask me : )

We spent Christmas eve and day at grams and papa's with Dan, Nancy, Portia and Belle. It was fun and santa brought you a baby einstein jumper center which you seemed to like despite you being too small right now...maybe in a few months you'll fit better. You were held my Nancy and grams quite a bit and loved looking into the holiday lights. Your sister always made sure you were included (she poured you "tea" from her teapot, showed you pictures from books and put toys on your lap). You must have been exhausted because you slept soundly that night. I can't tell you how happy and grateful I am that you joined our family. You are a true treasure and I love you so much my little buttercup.
We will head out to Whidbey Island this weekend where we'll celebrate the new year and ring in 2013. Mommy's favorite # is 13 so I know this will be a very good year for us all.

your 2 month appointment at 10 weeks

we took you and Hazel in for your doctor visit. the good news is that you got two thumbs up for health but the bad news is you got 3 shots! Your stats are below. You did such a great job (as did Hazel) and afterwards we went home.xoxo

8 week cutie

we're going into the office today to meet mommy and daddy's work friends so I'm planning on dressing you up real cute (but you keep pooping through your clothes!)
Mommy has her review and hopefully it will go well so we can buy some christmas presents for you! (just kidding- of course we'll get you something fun!)

A Christmas Weekend

Today we were busy getting the Christmas season underway. We started with a trip to santa at nordstrom and you sat on his lap unoblivious to any fear you may have of the big guy (Hazel on the other hand did  not want to go near Santa).

In the afternoon we went and got our Christmas tree- your first one! You spent the majority of time in your stroller while Hazel and I sorted through the lot. Eventually daddy and you found the perfect one (well, almost perfect. Some lady actually got the perfect one... we're not bitter...)

We went home, put on Christmas music and I fed you while daddy put on the lights. You went to sleep at your new normal time of 7pm and afterwards your parents (with some "help" from Hazel) put ornaments on it. Can't wait for you to stare at its beauty tomorrow.

This is your first Christmas of many sweet baby. What a great job you did today! Smooch!!

have I mentioned how cute you are? and how much you're growing? Here are some of your recent accomplishments:
- you coo at times
- you keep smiling (I love it!)
- you're fitting into your clothes better and outgrowing your newborn onesies
- you actually sleep through most of the night (we put you down at 7pm)
- you spit up less (fingers crossed)
- you like looking at your mommy (and the feeling is mutual)
- your head stays up
- you seem to have taken to your stroller
- you ar starting to make bubbles

weekend family photo (shared)

we attempted (twice) this weekend to get a family photo for our christmas card. Here are the best ones- too bad Dottie isn't as visible!

thanksgiving day + the day after

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and in case you weren't aware, I am so thankful for my wonderful family. Daddy, Hazel and Dottie!
We went to grams and papas yesterday along with Dan, Nancy and the girls and boys. Twas a good time until Dottie had enough and needed to go home and get swaddled and put to sleep (she was really a cry baby but we totally understood).
Today, daddy went to work so the 3 girls had a nice day together- we played, took photos, rode the trolley to the park (in the pouring rain) then we're planning on going to Jon's to help roll meatballs.

I love being with my girls- now if we can just get Hazel to sleep through the night. The last 2 nights you've woken up with tons of energy and bounce into mommy and daddy's bedroom (and keeping us

my favorite time of day

it happens in the morning- usually when I'm feeding you, watching the Today Show and enjoying my coffee. Usually between 8-10am and your spirits seem especially high. This week this is when I get the most smiles from you as evident in this video. My heart = melting.

this last week you've made smiling a more regular occurrence. It melts my heart. Please keep them coming sweet Dottie. You tend to smile on the changing table after I've changed your diaper, in your sleep and when I tickle your nose, chin or cheeks. L-O-V-E.
You also seem to have much greater focus and I find you looking at me- like right now I looked up from the computer (you are on my lap) to see you watching me and sporadically giving me a smile.
Your clothes are beginning to fit better too- I love dressing you up : )
